Perceptions of a Football Newbie

A month later and I can still feel the adrenaline and emotions rushing through me as I watched the children play.

It was a scorching summer day, and hundreds of children, men, and women flocked to the fields at the Marikina Sports Park for the Ace Deuce 7aside Football Fiesta 2011 on May 22, 2011. As part of the organizing committee and partner of the Ace Deuce Sports & Gaming Events, host of this tournament (or tourney as most players and football enthusiasts call it), I was overwhelmed.

At the height of the event organization and marketing of the football tourney, I started questioning myself why I got involved in this company. But that fateful day of May, I realized why. The kids were just marvelous! What you see on their faces was just plain J-O-Y. Being on the field for them was something fulfilling. At such a young age, they probably do not still know what fulfillment means, but I'm sure they felt it.

On the field, the ball is all that matters. After each game, you an see the camaraderie. I was even surprised to watch how their coaches motivated them. There was no pressure at all, and the constant reminder was "to have fun".

This experience is what motivates our company to hold another Football Fiesta. Hopefully, our next event is bigger, with more sponsors and more prizes.

Watch out for more from Ace Deuce Sports!
